Another week in the NFL season has come and gone and former Buckeyes continue to make their presence felt on the field. Several rookies are getting settled in with their new teams and seasoned veterans are continuing to prove why they belong in this league.
The Atlanta Falcons defense had a fantastic performance across the board in week two. The Falcons allowed just 88 rushing yards and six points total. Former Ohio State defensive end Zach Harrison stood out, finishing the game with 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and 3 total tackles in the win.
The San Francisco 49ers were victorious for the second straight week, defeating the New Orleans Saints 26-21. Nick Bosa has shined through the first two weeks, adding 6 tackles and one sack to his name. Bosa is an early candidate for defensive player of the year and that stock should soar as the season goes on.
The Kansas City Chiefs fell into unfamiliar territory this week, as they have dropped the first two games of the 2025 season, starting 0-2 for the first time since 2014. Despite the uncertainty, rookie left tackle Josh Simmons is looking like a future star in the making on the Chiefs offensive line. Simmons did not allow a single pressure to the Eagles stout defensive line according to Pro Football Focus. PFF gave Simmons’ performance a grade of 87.8.
The Seattle Seahawks had an offensive surge in the 31-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jaxon Smith-Njigba has had a hot start to the season, surpassing 100 yards in each game. Smith-Njigba caught 8 passes for 103 yards in the week two victory, a sign of big things to come in year three. This game also saw Jack Sawyer get his first NFL sack. Sawyer finished the game with six tackles.
