The historic rivalry game between the Oregon Ducks (3-0) and Oregon State Beavers (0-3) is back and ready to excite. No matter where the teams stand in rankings, rivalry games are always a different ball game.
The Ducks got the best of the Beavers last year, moving to a 68-51 record against their rivals. With this being the final face-off until 2027, both squads want to leave the other with a bitter taste in their mouth during the hiatus.

The Ducks come into this game as the No. 6 team in the country and with high expectations. Although the Ducks could look ahead to next week against the Penn State Nittany Lions, this isn’t a game Oregon can overlook.
On offense, the Ducks’ new quarterback Dante Moore has been extremely impressive. The numbers don’t provide shock value, but the tape shows lots of promise. Through three games, Moore has thrown for 657 yards, 7 touchdowns and one interception. If Moore can continue to show flashes, and if he can control the game against the Beavers defense, the Ducks will likely succeed.
On defense, there a few key players to look out for. The whole defensive line will need to be ready to play, as the Beavers like to run the ball. Look out for linebacker Bryce Boettcher, the veteran tackling machine for the Ducks. The dual sport athlete has 17 tackles and an interception on the year.
The Beavers have had a rough start to the season. Winning against their rivals this week would derail the Ducks and set the Beavers on a more optimistic path. If they are to do that, their new QB Maalik Murphy will have to show up and show out. So far, Murphy has thrown for 896 yards, 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. If he can avoid turnovers the Beavers can tighten up the score, otherwise it will get ugly.
Defensively, line backer Dexter Foster can create some disruptions for the Ducks. The Beavers’ leading tackler has 27 tackles on the season will look to stop explosive plays from the Ducks’ offense. While the Ducks’ are heavily favored, anything can happen in a rivalry game if the defense steps up.
This game should be a fairly easy one for the Ducks. The No.6 team in the nation is simply more talented and better coached. The Beavers will have to play at a high level to keep the Ducks in check. They have managed this feat before, so time will tell.
Winner: Oregon Ducks
