The latest week of high school football has come to a close and it was a wild one. From shocking upsets to dazzling plays, these future Buckeyes filled the headlines.
The Mater Dei Monarchs of California have consistently been one of America’s best high school football programs, winning multiple national titles and producing high-level talent every year. But the Monarchs were finally knocked off in an offensive battle against Centennial. The Monarchs had seven turnovers, including one controversial call that ended the game. The Monarchs battled and came back from a 33-7 deficit before a pass intended for 4-star Ohio State commit Kayden Dixon-Wyatt was intercepted. Dixon-Wyatt and the Centennial defender were battling for the ball, but the referee ruled possession in favor of the defense. Dixon-Wyatt finished with 5 catches for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns.
2026 3-star wide receiver Quay Guilford put up another solid performance in a loss to the Homestead Spartans (IN). Guilford was a catalyst in the Northrop offense, catching 6 passes for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Bruins lost in overtime by a score of 42-36.
The Wayne Warriors (OH) took on Springboro on Friday night. Ohio State commit Jamier Brown was part of an offensive surge for the Warriors. Wayne put up 48 points, and Brown had two total touchdowns and 118 receiving yards. Brown showed why he is the number one wideout in the 2027 class.
The Mission Viejo Diablos (CA) are rolling through the competition four weeks into the season. The Diablos, led by Ohio State quarterback commit Luke Fahey, dominated Lincoln. Fahey passed for 234 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Southlake Carroll (TX) dominated Byron Nelson on Friday, and Ohio State commit Brock Boyd was a big factor all night long. Boyd hauled in 7 catches for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns. Boyd is having a phenomenal start to the season and should continue to be a big part of the Dragons offense going forward.
