8 weeks have passed in the NFL season and these Buckeyes in the big league are finding their groove as we approach the halfway point.
The Houston Texans are off to a rocky start but they could not be outmatched on Sunday against the 49ers in the 26-15 battle. CJ Stroud was excellent, completing 30/39 passes for 318 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Stroud improves his season totals to 1,623 passing yards and 11 touchdowns.
Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets are winless no more as they took victory in a thrilling 39-38 battle against the Cincinnati Bengals. Justin Fields made the start despite being benched in the week prior. Tyrod Taylor was in line to start against the Bengals but sustained an injury. Fields looked fantastic in the win, completing 21/32 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown.
The Tennessee Titans are on the board with their first win of the season. Titans defensive end Dre’Mont Jones looked the part, converting 2 tackles and a sack. Jones now has 3 sacks on the season.
The Buffalo Bills took victory in dominant fashion with a 40-9 offensive surge over the Carolina Panthers. Bills defensive end Joey Bosa converted 2 tackles and a sack. Rookie safety Jordan Hancock added 3 tackles. The Bills are now 5-2 on the season.
The Washington Commanders fell to the defending Super Bowl champion, Kansas City Chiefs on Monday by a score of 28-7. Terry McLaurin caught the lone touchdown for the Washington offense and had 52 total yards. Marshon Lattimore also added an interception. Washington now sits at 3-5 on the season.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took victory over the New Orleans Saints in a Buckeye vs Buckeye battle. Emeka Egbuka continued his Offensive Rookie Of The Year campaign with 3 receptions for 35 yards, putting him in 7th place in receiving yards with 562. Chris Olave added 8 receptions for 63 yards as the Saints fell to 1-7 on the season. Olave now sits in 4th place with 52 receptions on the season.
