Don’t let the score fool you—this wasn’t some blowout where the Washington Huskies steamrolled the Colorado State Rams from the jump. No, this was a full-blown tug-of-war until the Rams dropped the rope early in the fourth quarter. The Huskies finally took advantage, added a few style points, and walked off like they’d been in control the whole time. Classic.
The real star of the show? Washington running back Jonah Coleman, who ran like someone told him there was a new NIL deal waiting in the endzone.
The first half was a back-and-forth slugfest, with both teams tied at 14 heading into the locker room—where presumably, Washington’s coaching staff handed Coleman the keys and said, “Just drive us home.”
In the fourth quarter, with the Huskies holding on to a shaky 7-point lead, Colorado State had a golden chance make things interesting… and fumbled the moment on fourth down. Two failed fourth-down conversions gave Washington excellent field position, and they cashed in both times like someone who rolled lucky number 7 twice at the Suquamish Clear Water Casino.
Coleman added a touchdown, the Huskies tacked on a field goal, and suddenly the game was out of reach—despite being neck-and-neck just minutes earlier.
Washington improves with a win that looked way easier than it actually was. Coleman continues to be a problem for opposing defenses. The Husky run defense struggled, but the defense as a whole stepped up big when it mattered most. FCS opponent UC-Davis is next up for the Huskies.
As for Colorado State? Hey, for three and a half quarters, they looked like they belonged. But unfortunately, football games don’t end after 45 minutes. The Rams head home to play FCS Northern Colorado next week, hoping to get into the win column.

The Good Northwestern’s Train Rolls On Northwestern is 5–2. That’s not a typo. It’s not a fever dream. It’s not a glitch in the standings. The Wildcats — who started this season under a cloud of low expectations and low preseason rankings — just shut out Purdue 19–0 and now sit one win away from […]
