When it comes to the transfer portal, it is a give and take scenario. The Texas A&M Aggies went into the portal and found some talented help at the wide receiver position. After three games, Mario Craver, a transfer from Mississippi State, is the No. 1 receiver in the FBS.
The No. 9 Aggies (3-0) are coming off a bye week and after taking down No. 8 Notre Dame 41-40 on the road under the tearful eye of Touchdown Jesus. In that game, Craver hauled in seven passes for 207 yards (29.57 yards average) and a score against the Fighting Irish.
For the performance, Craver was named the National Player of the Week by the Associated Press.
At 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, Craver’s season stat line thus far reads like this: 20 catches, 443 yards, four TDs. He has averaged 22.15 yards per catch). Craver leads the FBS in total receiving yards and receiving yards per game (147.7).
He has gained 100+ yards receiving in every game and has at least one receiving touchdown in each of the three contests this season. 11 of his catches have gone for 15 yards or more.
With the help of Craver and also receiver KC Concepcion (3 TDs and a punt return for a score), the Aggies are ranked in the Top 30 in the FBS in scoring offense, passing offense and total offense.
Up next for the Aggies are the Auburn Tigers (3-1). In the last eight meetings, Auburn has been victorious five times against Texas A&M. However, Auburn has not won at Kyle Field since 2019.
Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold has yet to throw an INT this season and has accounted for nine total TDs so far this season. Running back Jeremiah Cobb has rushed for 375 yards. That’s good enough for second in the Southeastern Conference. He has averaged 7.21 yards per carry thus far in 2025.
The Auburn defense is a stone wall for opponents that like to run the ball. They have allowed only one rushing touchdown this season and 58.25 rushing yards per game. That is top five nationally.
Keyron Crawford is a leader on the Tigers defense. Crawford has posted 18 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, one INT and a forced fumble through four games.
Auburn held Oklahoma to just 32 yards rushing in a 24-17 loss to the Sooners. However, the Tigers rank 104th in the FBS in pass defense. Look for Auburn to get a heavy dose of Craver and Concepcion. The early betting odds show the Aggies as seven-point favorites. Texas A&M covers the spread in this one and then some.
Final Score: Texas A&M 45 – Auburn 21
