Good size, great ball skills and speed. Those are elite football skills that fit Texas redshirt freshman receiver Parker Livingstone to a Texas T.
After making his presence known to coaches in spring practice, Livingstone (6-foot-4, 191 pounds) earned his first collegiate start on the road at Ohio State. He scored the Longhorns‘ only touchdown that day in a 14-7 loss.
Livingstone is coming off a stellar performance in Week 2 against San Jose State in which he hauled in four catches for 128 yards and two TDs, including a pass play in which Livingstone displayed his 20-mph game speed and turned it into an 83-yard score.
As a senior in high school, Livingstone held over 30 scholarship offers. During that critical senior season, Livingstone’s grandfather, John, passed away.
This was a man that meant everything to him. He would send messages to Livingstone before and after a game, every game. It was difficult for Livingstone to deal with the loss.
But Livingstone’s football journey is fueled not only by talent, but also by honor and remembrance. He wears his grandfather’s initials on his wrist and points to the heavens from his place in the end zone, knowing that his biggest fan is looking down and is proud as he can be.
Livingstone plays the game of football with passion and for glory. He loves football, and all his love and glory keep the memory of his biggest fan alive, the man upstairs. A great man named John.

In the series history, the Tigers have outscored the Lions 79-7 and own a 2-0 record.

As a Vanderbilt football fan who’s been cheering from the stands since the early ’90s – back when we were still dreaming of consistent bowl games and the occasional upset over a ranked opponent – I’ve witnessed more heartbreak than highlights. Remember the 1990s? We had flashes of being headed in the right direction under […]
