Another week of high school football has come and gone. That means it is time to check in on some future Buckeyes who are making an impact for their respective high school teams.
The Huntington Beach Oilers put on an offensive clinic on Friday night against Mayfair. 2027 4-star quarterback Brady Edmunds shined, throwing 3 touchdowns for 272 yards and completing 17 of 20 pass attempts. Edmunds was also involved in the run game, rushing the ball 5 times for 25 yards.
The Mater Dei Monarchs bounced back with a win over the Las Vegas powerhouse Bishop Gorman. The Monarchs were coming off a rare loss to Centennial. Ohio State commit Chris Henry Jr. had a monster performance, hauling in six catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.
2026 3-star tight end Corbyn Fordham showed off his two-way capabilities for the Bolles Bulldogs in their 38-6 victory over Oakleaf. Fordham caught 4 passes for 37 yards and added one sack defensively. Linebacker Simeon Caldwell was everywhere on defense, adding 10 total tackles.
The Olentangy Braves added another win Friday night. Ohio State linebacker commit CJ Sanna contributed in a big way. Sanna converted six tackles for the Braves and had an interception.
The Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins were victorious again on Friday night. The Bruins dominated Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran 47-6. Ohio State commit Quay Guilford was a key part of the offensive surge, catching six passes for 125 yards and one touchdown.
It was a record breaking night for Southlake Carroll senior wide receiver Brock Boyd who became the school’s all-time leader in career receiving yards. Boyd is having an electric start to the season and added to that with 6 catches for 90 yards and 1 touchdown.
