The Buckeyes are hot on the recruiting trail with commitments from 2027 recruits Mason Wilt and Kellen Wymer.
Kellen Wymer currently comes in as the No. 10-ranked offensive lineman in the country and boasts 4-star status. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive tackle plays for Liberty Center High School in Ohio. Wymer was in attendance for the Buckeyes’ matchup against Penn State on Saturday.
Mason Wilt comes in as the No. 27-ranked offensive lineman in the country. He stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 295 pounds. The St. Clairsville product was also in attendance for the Buckeyes’ matchup with Penn State.
The Buckeyes have seen a much-needed surge in recruiting since hiring Tyler Bowen away from Virginia Tech this past offseason. Bowen has landed elite talents in Sam Greer, Max Riley, Aaron Thomas, and Tucker Smith. Bowen also added transfers Ethan Onianwa and Phillip Daniels.
The Buckeyes’ 2027 class is shaping up to be among the best in the country. While still early, the Buckeyes have landed commitments from some of the top talents in Jamier Brown, Brady Edmunds, Angelo Smith, Kellen Wymer, and Mason Wilt. The class currently ranks 13th in the nation.
The Buckeyes offensive line has been a topic of discussion as the season has progressed. While Julian Sayin’s jersey has been clean for a majority of the season, it is the production in the run game that has fans and media posing questions about the protection in the trenches.
Running backs James Peoples and CJ Donaldson have not performed as many thought they would. The Buckeyes currently sit in 74th place with 153 rushing yards per game and 25th place in rushing yards per carry with 5. With four games remaining, the Buckeyes will need to come up with answers if they want to bring home another trophy in 2025.
