Class of 2026 offensive lineman Landry Brede has flipped his commitment to Ohio State, per ON3 Insider Hayes Fawcett. Brede was formerly committed to North Carolina State. Brede is an Ohio native and attends Mentor High School. Brede is a top-100 offensive tackle in the class of 2026 and currently has a 3-star rating.
Ohio State offensive line coach Tyler Bowen’s ability to recruit has been evident in his short tenure, securing key commitments from Max Riley, Tucker Smith, Sam Greer, Aaron Thomas, and now Landry Brede. Bowen was hired earlier this year out of Virginia Tech after it was announced that former offensive line coach Justin Frye would be leaving to join the Arizona Cardinals in the same role.
Tyler Bowen has also played a key role in the Buckeyes’ on-field success to start the season. The Buckeyes’ offensive line as a unit has been among the best in the entire country under the direction of Bowen, allowing just two sacks in 6 games, which ties them for second place in the nation. If the Buckeyes keep it up, the unit will almost certainly be recognized with the Joe Moore Award, given to the country’s best offensive line unit across college football.

The Buckeyes continue to dominate the recruiting trail, this time with 2026 tight end Nick Lautar. The Lebanon, OH, native flipped his commitment from Louisville.
