2026 4-Star linebacker Braxton Rembert has flipped his commitment from Wake Forest to Ohio State. Rembert is the 28th recruit to choose the Buckeyes and the 10th commitment in November. He is the third linebacker in the class, joining CJ Sanna and Cincere Johnson. The Georgia Native had been committed to the Demon Deacons since June.
A standout on the Mill Creek defense, Rembert converted 56 tackles, 11 TFLs, 9 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 interception in 2025. Rembert is a multi-sport athlete, competing in both basketball and track and field. With one season in his high school career remaining, Rembert will have another year of growth and improvement before he comes to Columbus.
Linebackers’ coach James Laurinaitis was first hired by the Buckeyes in 2023 as a graduate assistant after spending time with Notre Dame. A former Ohio State All-American linebacker, Laurinaitis was promoted to linebackers coach in 2024. Since then, he has completely transformed the position group into what it is today. Led by Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles, the silver bullets have played a key role in the success of the defense this season. With upcoming talent in Riley Pettijohn and Tarvos Alford, the Buckeyes should continue to see tremendous growth and improvement under the direction and leadership of Coach Laurinaitis.
Ryan Day and his staff continue to impress recruits on the trail. After a disappointing start, the 2026 class is shaping up for another top 5 finish. The Buckeyes currently place 6th in the rankings and show no signs of letting their foot off the gas. Flip season is in full swing, and the Buckeyes have been in rumors for some of the top-ranked commits in the country. As the regular season comes to an end, the Buckeyes will have to use the postseason as the ultimate sales pitch for recruits moving forward.
