The Navy Midshipmen, ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press poll, head into the 126th Edition of the Army-Navy Game on a two-game winning streak. Navy won its first seven games of the season before dropping back-to-back road games at North Texas and Notre Dame.
The Midshipmen’s current winning streak has come against American Conference powers USF and Memphis. The Mids outscored those two programs by a combined 69-55.
The Army Black Knights stumbled out of the gate in 2025, losing three of their first four games. However, after making a change at quarterback, the Black Knights have gone 5-2 in their last 7 games.
Behind the Black Knights’ turnaround is QB Cale Hellums, who is 5-3 as a starter this season. The junior leads the team and is No. 23 in the FBS with 1,078 rushing yards. In Hellums’ first start, at Kansas State, he set an Army record for most carries in a game with 41.
On defense, LBs Andon Thomas and Kaleb Fortner lead the Black Knights. The duo has combined for 166 tackles. Thomas and Fortner will be busy Saturday trying to slow down the potent Navy rushing attack, which averages 298.4 yards per game.
Navy’s offense is led by three incredible skill players: QB Blake Horvath, RB Alex Tecza and SB Eli Heidenreich. But there are others on the Midshipmen offense who scare Army defensive coordinator Nate Woody. WR Brandon Chatman has 564 all-purpose yards and 3 total TDs.
Navy has struggled defensively this season. However, DL Landon Robinson has been tremendous for the Midshipmen. The American Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year has 8.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 of which are sacks. Robinson and the Midshipmen’s defense will be taxed trying to stop Hellums and Army’s run game.
Game Info: Army (6-5) -v- No. 22 Navy (9-2), 3:00 p.m. ET, Dec. 13, M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD, on CBS. In last year’s game, Army was ranked in the Top-25 and had 11 wins. The Black Knights were 6-point favorites over Navy, but the Midshipmen upset Army, 31-13.
This season, Navy is looking to get 10 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history. Army has had struggles this season, but has turned things around. The last time this game was played in Baltimore, in 2016, Army ended a 7-game Navy winning streak. Navy is a 6-point favorite in Saturday’s game.
With Navy’s No. 1-ranked rushing attack, expect a heavy dose of Horvath, Tecza, Heidenreich and Chatman. History will not repeat itself. Navy wins 23-13.

The No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels (11-1, 7-1 SEC) are in the College Football Playoffs, earning a home game against the No. 11 Tulane Green Wave (11-2, 7-1 AAC). Normally, after such a stellar season, the fact that the Rebels are in the playoffs would be the only reason they’re in the headlines.

When thinking about the Army offense, most will assume the triple-option is what the Black Knights run. However, under offensive coordinator Cody Worley, Army has added a shotgun variation with a run-pass-option. But make no mistake, the focus of the offense is still the quarterback. And the one leading Army’s powerful rushing attack in 2025 […]
