Texas is coming off a 38-7 victory over San Jose State last Saturday in their home opener.
UTEP is basking in the glow of victory after a 42-17 win over UT-Martin.
The Longhorns have outscored the Miners by an average score of 42-6 in six meetings.
The Longhorns are a whopping 41.5-point favorite against UTEP.
Malachi Nelson is QB1 for the Miners and a former No. 1 recruit in the 2022 class, according to ESPN. The USC/Boise State transfer has thrown for 456 yards, five TDs and only one INT this season. He has completed 60 percent of his passes.
Running back Hahsaun Wilson scored on a 94-yard run last Saturday. It was the longest TD run in Conference USA in 11 years.
Wide receiver Kenny Odom is Nelson’s primary target. Odom has posted 14 catches for 221 yards and two TDs. He is averaging 15.79 yards per catch.
On defense, five players have 10 or more tackles through two games, led by linebacker Micah Davey with 22 stops.
The Miners held UT-Martin to just 76 yards rushing for a 1.9 yards average per carry.
QB Arch Manning threw four touchdown passes and ran for another (the Longhorns lone rushing TD in 2025) last Saturday. For the season, Manning has thrown for 465 yards, five TDS, and two INTs. He has completed 60 percent of his passes.
Freshman receiver Parker Livingstone has averaged almost 30 yards per catch (29.17). He has gained 175 yards on just six catches and has scored three TDs.
For his performance against San Jose State, which included an 83-yard touchdown catch, Livingstone was named the Freshman of the Week in the Southeastern Conference.
The Longhorns defense forced four turnovers in the win over San Jose State. Three Longhorns have recorded double-digit tackles through two games: Michael Taafe (17 tackles), Liona Lefau (13 tackles) and Anthony Hill, Jr. (12 tackles).
Arch Manning looks to keep up the momentum from his stellar performance against San Jose State. The Longhorns’ defense is allowing just 10 points per contest. Look for Texas to be in the face of Nelson early and often and earn victory number seven over the Miners.
Final Score: Texas 45 – UTEP 3
