The Illini went down to Durham . They were lookin’ for a win to steal.
They were feelin’ bold, just breakin’ the mold, With their hands on the whip and the wheel.
They came across some Devils hot. Slingin’ passes down the lane. Luke Altmyer grinned, said “Strap it in,” “Boys, it’s time to stake our claim.” “I’ll take that ball and make it gold,” said Luke with fire in his eyes, “You bring your heat and quick release—I’ll bring Midwest skies.”

Mental & Locker Room Test
After getting outscored 31–6 in the second half, this becomes a character check for the Blue Devils. How they respond in practice and against upcoming ACC opponents will define whether this was a wake-up call—or the beginning of a slide.
Quote from Duke Head Coach Manny Diaz:
“We didn’t protect the football, and against a team like Illinois, that’s a recipe for disaster,” Diaz said. “We’ve got to be more disciplined and take ownership of those mistakes—this one’s on us.”
