Ohio State QB Julian Sayin is doing his part, replacing National Championship-winning QB Will Howard. Sayin has an unheard-of completion percentage through his first 3 games. Even after what some may consider an off game against the Ohio Bobcats in Week 3, going 25-32, Sayin still tops the list of college football quarterbacks when it comes to completion percentage.
Let me repeat that: Sayin is three total games into his career as a starter and is No. 1 in the nation in completion percentage. He is 56-71, completing 78.9 percent of his passes with 8 TDs. The Buckeye signal caller has the third-best QB rating, 199.76, in college football.
With 40.3 points per game, the offense he is leading is 24th in the nation. His first start, a 14-point performance against Texas, a top ten team, diluted the team’s scoring; it will likely see a sharp increase as the season continues.
Let’s dive into just how special Sayin’s play has been. If his completion percentage holds up for the year, just take a look at the quarterbacks Sayin would be besting.
So far, we are witnessing something great. Although the national recognition has been slow to come around, if these stats continue, Sayin with be topping everyone’s quarterback list. Joel Klatt is starting to recognize the talent. Klatt ranked Sayin at 10 in his list of top 10 QB performers of the season. Per Bet MGM, Sayin is +1500 in Heisman odds. For every 9 attempts, he is throwing a touchdown pass. It is time to put respect on his name.
No quarterback can have that kind of success out of the gate without some help up front. We have to give credit where credit is due. Phillip Daniels, Austin Siereveld, Luke Montgomery, Carson Hinzman, and Tegra Tshabola have excelled in pass coverage, giving up only one sack so far this season.
With the Big Ten opener and the first road test in a hostile environment on the horizon, the nation and Buckeye fans everywhere will know soon enough if this hot start is just beginner’s luck or, as I believe, Sayin is simply a baller. After a week off, Sayin and the Buckeyes start Big Ten play Saturday, September 27, at 3:30 pm ET, visiting the Washington Huskies in scenic Husky Stadium.
The high school football season is heating up, and the stakes are getting higher as teams battle for a chance to win it all. Several future Buckeyes are putting it all on the line to keep their playoff hopes alive for another week. The Southlake Carroll Dragons improved to a perfect 8-0 record on Friday […]

The Good Northwestern’s Train Rolls On Northwestern is 5–2. That’s not a typo. It’s not a fever dream. It’s not a glitch in the standings. The Wildcats — who started this season under a cloud of low expectations and low preseason rankings — just shut out Purdue 19–0 and now sit one win away from […]
34-0 was the result, but even the shutout score doesn’t paint the full picture of this dominating performance. The Badgers (2-5, 0-4) only had 144 total yards on offense for the game. For comparison, Ohio State QB Julian Sayin had 169 yards passing in the first quarter alone. The No. 1 Buckeyes (7-0, 4-0) came […]
